“Be Nice. Smile”

Smiling as a blessing and a weapon.

BNS is a film that touches on the hidden sinister parts of our everyday speech and how women navigate being objectified in purposeful and passive ways. It follows “Tina Richardson” (Tyla Harris) as she gears up confidence to go on a first date with “Michael” (Dasan Frazier) by following the advice of her best friend “Amber”(Shanell Brooks). Throughout Tina’s journey, we follow her personal revelations of her relationship to people pleasing after witnessing microaggressions she faces in her life.

BNS is conceptualized by Tasia Brown, who offered me to lead the film and invited me to produce as well. I also led the casting process and crew coordination.
