Hi, my name is Palmer Williams III, and I am a Writer-Director based in Atlanta. In each project, I weave identity, culture, and faith-driven undertones into coming-of-age black perspectives. With a poetic touch and world-building elements, my storytelling creates space for both reflection and resonance. As well as shape work that explores resilience, purpose, and the layered experiences of black life through a lens that is casual, confident, and spiritually rooted.
Currently I am known for short form content reaching millions of views across multiple platforms. Now I know it’s time to expand myself with longer narrative pieces, and there’s one theme that can’t escape my mind,
Love.
When I think about the concept of love, my mind goes straight to love in the romantic sense, then I think about God, family, friendships. When I further peel back the layers on the definition of love I start to see patterns of hope, faith, sacrifice, understanding, and learning to be at peace within self before loving others.
I recognized that I’m not the only one, I see people looking at love from only a romantic lens when in reality there is more to it. From late nights conversing with my little brother, to the prayers my mother spoke over me as a child, the lessons my father has passed down from past generations, and my developing relationship with God. I want to create a film that shifts the multitude of love to the forefront of our minds, using the stories and relationships that I see in my head.
The Love Files
Two young classmates with opposing beliefs about romance spend one night debating the true meaning of love, risking their vulnerabilities through explorations of seven different forms of love before their assignment is due.
Synopsis
In a world where the true definition of love can be skewed, CJ and Rose decide to dive deep into its definition in a race to finish their finals paper. At a home-fashioned diner, the two friends debate about young love, brotherly love, a mother's love, a love for Christ, and a generational love, leading us down a recollection of beloved memories, and revealing their true feelings toward one another.
Each love story will unfold in our characters' minds. Their thoughts and memories will be expressed through cinematic lighting and composition choices that resemble shows such as Euphoria and Moonlight. In addition, we will expand upon the nostalgic stories with vibrant colors that can only exist in a dream.
Tone & Style
With themes similar to If Beale Street Can Talk, the composition style of Moonlight, the lighting tones of Euphoria, and the nostalgic feel of Crooklyn.
